Oudh Black

Oudh Black is a darker, more aromatic bakhoor than its name suggests, built from herbs and flowers rather than raw smoke. Bergamot, lemon and basil give a green, sparkling start.

The middle brings geranium, lavender, ylang-ylang and a trace of cinnamon, and everything settles onto a bed of musk, oakmoss and coumarin. Warm a few chips on a suitable burner, placed somewhere that tolerates heat, for evenings when you want the room to feel quietly mysterious.

Spray or dab onto pulse points: wrists, neck and behind the ears. For a lasting trail, layer a perfume oil underneath your eau de parfum, or mist lightly over hair and clothing. Avoid rubbing your wrists together, which can dull the opening.
